Hey & welcome!! Sounds similar to me in drinking habits, it came in waves, never everyday but I think if I didnt have kids I would have been a daily drinker & inevitably that's where I would've ended up anyway.

welcome back CF
I tried to quit in secret but my drinking was so public - and so ingrained in my life - it was futile.
You might have to 'break cover' to stay sober CF?
It takes some commitment and effort to rid ourselves of our demons - but 4 days is a start

Typing here on my phone as my family are nearby.
I have been lurking on this site for over 2 years and finally have taken the courage to register.
Have tried countless tines to quit. Always end up doing secret binging then 3 days of recovery and then I stop for few days as basically I can't function. Once I recover, usually day 4 of nothing then jump back on the booze.

Last weeks have again been a rollercoaster of trying and then failing.
I need these demons to leave me!

Hi again GFG, when you log into S.R if you go into 'Newcomer's to Recovery' and scroll down, you should see 'Class of November 2019' somewhere there. If not, I'm sure Dee or one of the others will send you the link, I would but I don't know how. I would recommend you to join it, you'll be with people who are at the same stage of recovery as yourself and you'll get lots of support and make new friends too. Take care. xx
Glad you found the November thread CFG - the link is here for anyone else who needs it

I’m a long-time lurker too, and just signed up today and posted my first thread, which was a bit daunting. Then, after hitting send, I re-read what I posted and immediately felt like I wanted to be sick because maybe I shared too much too soon, with my story now on display for everyone. But, I have to embrace it- it is what it is, and if it’s what it takes to make a life change, I’m going to go for it. Look forward to seeing you in the nov 2019 class!
