Sick and tired of being sick and tired

Have had 2 benders this week. Today is day 1, I have thrown all the alcohol remaining down the sink.

I hope my suffering will now come to an end. I never thought it would be so difficult to drag myself out of this relapse.

Common wisdom says it's harder each time. I haven't tried it myself, but I do know that the longer I drank, the harder it was to quit.

Get working a recovery program and commit to making your sobriety the most important thing in your life above all else. AA is also a great recovery resource and support.

Hope is good, but with addiction you can make sure that your suffering is at an end.

See a Dr or a counsellor, go to a meeting based group like AA SMART or lifering, investigate approaches like AVRT, or check into outpatient or inpatient rehab.

Do something and work for a resolution to your problem and a brighter future

In your previous casino post, I copy pasted my comments from your initial casino post. I will now copy paste what I wrote in your second casino post:

'After your last all night drinking session at a casino, I asked what you plan on doing differently to avoid it happening again.

You said:

'I really have problems making plans.'

I'm wondering what those problems are? You also asked the forum for advice, which there is a lot of in your threads and other threads. Will you be using that advice to make a plan this time?'

Hey didn't you have like several sober months recently? How did you get going with that/what kept you sober then, etc?

I had 5 months 9 days sober and things were looking up for me.

Deppression caused a relapse which as lasted nearly 2 months. I have lost a lot of money been off on the sick and been miserable.

i am absolutely determined not to drink again. I will get another 2 1/2 months of sobriety before the start of 2020.

Allcoholism has has ruined my life. I am certain I have an allergy to it.

All i I hope is anyone reading this who is thinking of having a drink will think twice and not do it. I assure you this relapse has really made me miserable, it’s just not worth it.

Stable, I'm glad to hear you are determined to turn this around. Posting here is a good start, but as Dee said, it's good to have a plan in place to make sobriety happen.

Have faith that you can do this and get back to your recovery.

My plan was weekly sessions with my addiction counselor and daily visits to SR. The counselor changed jobs when I had about five years sober and I had to stop seeing her. I still come here every day, to post and read, and hopefully help others.

Court ordered AA, reading and posting here daily,a few therapy sessions and the willingness to not drink each day no matter what happened. Was what finally got me 'out of the endless loop of insanity that alcohol brought me.
