Sleep !
It takes time. I know people hate to hear that, but it's true. Maybe try taking a warm bath shortly before you are ready to go to bed. Some soothing nighttime tea, perhaps? This is a recipe for Honey and Cinnamon Nighttime Drink, which has helped me...
Honey and Cinnamon Nighttime Drink
4 ingredients
1 tsp Honey
1 pinch Cinnamon, ground
2 drop Vanilla extract
1 cup Milk
Pour milk into a microwave safe mug. Cook on High until the milk is very hot and begins to foam, about 3 minutes. Stir in honey and vanilla, then sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.

Sooner or later, the body self corrects any problems with sleep that I experience. I do know that the harder I try and the more I worry about getting to to sleep, the more difficult it becomes. When I hit the sack, I let my mind drift off to a particularly pleasant and relaxing time/event that I have experienced in the past and I slowly drop off into dreamland.

I agree with others, give it time. I recall when I was binging and withdrawing and binging again, I would pull some pretty long stretches without sleep. 30 hours was not uncommon, but I knew when my body was tired enough, I'd finally sleep. Very glad those days are behind me. Good luck to you.
After drinking sleepytime tea, I turn off all the lights so my bedroom is really dark. Then I listen to rain sounds on youtube....if you search ..rain sleep ..there are lots of different ones to choose from. It seems to wipe my mind and I just hear the soft rain as I fall asleep.
It is rare that I sleep more than 5 hours straight. The moons have to line up for me to get 6 straight. If I do, I feel like a champ.
Tonight I drifted off for about 30 minutes but now I am awake.
But, I seem to always get caught up.
Drinking altered my sleep patterns for decades.
I have been sober a long time and I can perform fairly well for a few days with just a few hours.
I have been watching reruns of Survivor and they make it off 2 or 3 hours a night for over a month. They do nap though.
I am also frustrated in my life right now. Family issues. I also have a job evaluation and a trip scheduled soon. Glad I am going to wake up hang over free to deal with all of these things.
It is the way God intended. Temperate.
Thanks.

Definitely my biggest issue, even now. It was very difficult at first, with nightmares then dreams and sweats and such. Over 3+ yrs it's gone up and down and I've learned how to mostly manage it. Everyone is different so time and good strategies - one of my better one seems to be getting up for about a half hour, having part of a banana if hungry, then going back to bed planning to doze if not go back to sleep. That's a 2-3am option for me.
I was a huge napper at first, by which I mean the first months, even year.
Keep going. 11 days is great and very early. Everything gets better- to the norm for you, if you will.

Turkey sandwich and warm milk before you sleep. The tryptophan will help you sleep, maybe. If you can't sleep, lay as still as possible and rest your body. I put on my mp3 and listened to stories or AA speakers or meditations or whatever so I had noise in my head. That was early recovery (this is what I did). Sleep is awesome today. Your sleep will come, your body just has to relearn how to sleep well.
