The Fox is a beautiful animal, with much mythology around it's character, sometimes hunted sometimes the hunter. It's beautiful red coat and splendid tail once sought after as a macabre fashion accessory The female fox, a vixen, will if needed look after the cubs of another vixen if she is killed or wounded or for some other reason can not look after her cubs.
I admire this little animal and it's ability to survive, to nurture it's little ones, to beguile us humans, to look so magical in the dusk of an evening or the first light of the morning. It's life is often not easy and, I imagine, after a long walk through a hot summers day looking or food it might return to its' den or 'earth' dusty and tired. If I could chose my animal companion ( as in Philip Pullman's books) it would be that dusty fox to sit by my side, licking it's tired paws and teasing the seeds and grasses out of it's auburn tail until finally it settled to sleep.

August 11, 1990 is the day I entered recovery and
the beginning of learning how to live life sober, healthy,
happy and honest one day at a time moving forward.
Since then, i havent found it necessary to pick up a
drink of alcohol that would make any life situation better.
The program of AA, faith, service and fellowship is what
continues to bless me each day with continuous sobriety
keeping an open mind and remaining teachable.

This is my second (and last) time living sober.
I had *almost* 6 years sober waaaaay back when and then I relapsed for 20 some odd years.
I am now at 6 1/2 yrs sober and never going back again.
