Finally made 30 days. What now?

1.A tattoo on my forehead? that says: DO NOT SERVE ALCOHOL!
2. i meet my sponsor tomorrow for step work. (I don't believe it but I don't have to. Just gotta do it)
3. Every day when faced with the opportunity to say "**** it" I gotta remember that my job isn't to find instant relief. My job is to take the next (immediate) step.period.

Great job on 30 days of sobriety!

Maybe it's time to think about making changes in your life that will help you to stay sober? I had to remove a few people from my life in early recovery, I got involved in a couple of old hobbies, I started a new exercise routine. What do you think you could do to help protect your sobriety?

30 days sober is a great start! Keep going, cause it will get better. :)

I’ve made it to 30 days a few times then thought I should drink again- never worked out quite the way I expected it to.
With all the massive effort you’ve put Into getting to 30 days is going t really worth giving up now ?

Just my opinion, but after reading your post it seems like you are off to a good start.

Pressmetilihurt 10-05-2019 03:10 PM

Not giving up! I don't want to make any pronouncements but I'm committed to being sober today.

30 days is great!

The next milestone is day 31, and then 32, and then . . .

Actually, a good milestone to shoot for next, is to change the unit of time that you use to measure your sobriety.

Soon, you will measure it in weeks, and then eventually months. And finally when you start measuring your sober time in years, you will actually have no idea how many sober days you have.

It takes awhile to get there, but it is so rewarding!

Congrats on your milestone Press - as to what happens now - the rest of your life :D

I often heard in early recovery that my time
sober was just a drop of water in a bucket.

Meaning it's gonna take a many one days
sober to get it full. That also mean, ive got
work to do on myself using a program of
recovery as my guideline to follow building
a strong solid foundation to live upon each
day I remain sober.

Hold onto all your recovery life lines and remember
you are never alone and you never have to figure out
anything by yourself again.

If you don't under stand something, ask. If you
need help, ask. Never be so proud that you dont
need to ask for help.

Stay strong, responsible and continue on in your
recovery journey moving forward. :)

That's right. In AA our job is to "Be of Maximum Service!" and to help God's kids.

'Cause we don't see people active in service gettin' drunk!

The whole point is to think about ourselves less and about each other more.

Coffee maker - most important job in AA!
Chair setup/ clean up
Greeter
Meeting Secretary
Supplies buyer
Trash taker outer

'grats on big 30! :You_Rock_

That's great Press - and def agree with comments above.

Love Sharon's bucket analogy. Mine will never be completely full and that's a way I keep growing.

Anna has a great point about who we surround ourselves with, as that is so important.

And as we go, I don't think we need your original #1 - and #2 and #3 are always spot on ideas!

Day 31...proud of you. I know it's been some struggle that you've shared. Keep going.
