Seven Years Today!

Just noticed that today marks the 7th year of sobriety for me! It wasn't always easy, particularly in the beginning, but it has definitely been worth it. To anyone out there struggling, or thinking they can't do it, let me assure you that you can!:grouphug:

Great news!

Seven years is a great accomplishment.

I'm assuming you weren't reading Sartre at that time; that guy's enough to keep anyone drinking!

I stop in every day but I've been really busy lately, so I don't always post. But I always scan the forum and check things out. :grouphug:

I've been a philosophy junkie, particularly existentialism, for maybe 30 years. Sarte isn't cheerful on the surface but I find his works to be...liberating? Buoyant?

That’s brilliant, MOS.

I often ask this question about cravings - although mine have surprisingly vanished right now after 9 months - do you get still get any slight cravings to drink even after so long? You’re obviously strong enough to deal with it if so, but I’m curious.

As I say, I’m pleasantly surprised my cravings, which had been lurking in the background albeit weaker than my early withdrawal days, have gone. I’m wondering if it’s a temporary thing in my case.

Well done again 😀

Congratulations Myth, seven years is awesome! You were one of the first kind and wise people to offer me words of hope, when I opened my first thread in Secular, early 2016. :You_Rock_
