Good morning/afternoon all. Autumn/ winter is coming on fast now. As strange as it sounds, I like the darker gloomier days as much as summer days. I even miss grey days when I've gone abroad in the past.

It’s a free day at my zoo today and rainy, so not busy thank god. Kinda coasting along.

Theres a wrestling PPV I’m excited to watch later so that’ll be nice.

Alfie is so so darn cute, Kaily. I would have loved to lay in bed with my kitty this morning but duty calls I guess.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

I make those Taoists right about trees.

I hear legendary drummer Ginger Baker has passed away aged 80. He was a heroin addict for a long time. He was in a gazillion bands in the 1970s and 80s but here he is in his best known incarnation as part of Cream

Thanks Dee, ironically i will be labouring in my yard this Labour Day holiday but despite it being hard work it is enjoyable. I hope everyone enjoying their weekend and staying strong.

I never got into Cream, although I love almost all 60s music like the velvet underground, jefferson airplane etc. That songs pretty cool though, will have to give them another go.

I'm fond of Jefferson Airplane too.

Seeing as it's almost the witching hour in London and in honour of Weekender Ravel here is something you've all been waiting for - German psychedelics, The Rattles from 1970 with The Witch

Cream is a good band, Clapton ✌🏼

I’m making a Sunday roast and getting work done before the week starts. Really productive weekend and grateful to be sober.

I can't say I'm having hassles, but we have some friends in town for the next few days that are part of my and my DW's old drinking crew. I made it through today just fine - I don't have the urge to drink, but I know the inevitable question and peer pressure is just a matter of time. I won't drink, but it will probably get a little weird at some point. Sticking around SR as much as necessary - thanks for the post Dee.

MITA, I found having an answer ready for any questions you may feel be awkward, if you’re asked why you’re not drinking.

I wasn’t then waiting for the inevitable questions to come. Another tool to keep handy perhaps.

Thanks Mags. I'm pretty good at having a ready response for the question, but it always helps to work through the situation mentally beforehand - I'll keep that in mind. I guess it's as much the folks that are visiting as the question itself - not drinking with them has almost never happened!! Ah, the not so good old days. They are good people, and good friends - they'll give me some ribbing, but I don't expect it will be more than that. But it will be a different dynamic for sure!

I posted this somewhere else the other day. FTR, the best possible response I think I've ever seen

If more than a no thanks is required, I just say I didn't like myself as a drinker,

waiting with dear daughter at the crisis clinic. She asked us (mom & dad) a couple of hours ago to bring her. Expecting a long night. Glad she asked....

Sending you and your family kind thoughts Dragon.

Mita hope things aren't as awkward as you fear. "Secret reasons" if that doesn't get them wondering I don't know what will.

Yeah Manta when cats play they really play. Nothing is out of bounds, sofas, shelves, ceiling..

Thanks dpac, Alfie isn't always as cute as he looks. Bit of a lovable rogue at times.

Beautiful pink sky this morning, pic doesn't really do it justice but I tried.

Sending positive vibes you and your daughter's way Dragon. These are the times that sobriety comes into its own.

I'm sure your friends will be fine about your decision MITA once they have gotten over the initial enquiring.

Excellent pic Kaily.
