I'm sorry you're in a bad place right now BABM, Ifyou are suffering from DT's then it might be best to take yourself to Accident & Emergency which would have the double benefit of you being attended to medically and you should be able to make it to court - I don't know what you have to be there for and don't need to know but you must be there on time and drinking will jeapordise that.

When I was drinking I could always rely on booze to make a bad situation worse.

I'm sorry you're in a bad way, but if you keep drinking, you'll be worse off. The shakes will stop after a few days but if you keep drinking, they'll never go away.

Drinking to kill the shakes right now won’t help your court appearance in the morning. Call an Uber and go to the ER as saoutchik suggested. They can monitor you and make sure you’re safe. Plan to take an Uber to court.

Man,

I don't see any other way out of this drinking for you right now except going to AA.

Who gives a flying rat's a$$ whether or not there are other ways that may or may not work; who the hell cares if AA is or isn't the ONLY way?

Go.

Ask for help.

Do what you're told.

I'm sorry you're struggling so much right now. Do you think it's safe for you to stop drinking or do you think you need an ER? If you can't make it to your court date, it might help to call and let them know you're unable to be there, rather than just now showing up.

so your plan HAD been to pick up your truck from the repair shop and......DRIVE it to court where you have to appear for getting a ticket for driving on a suspended?

you seem to have some serious self sabotage going on coupled with the drinking. both require hard work to overcome.

I had the shakes a few days after I quit drinking. Start drinking things like water and Gatorade and try to eat something high in protein. Just remember that the shakes will go away... a dwi won't.

I think the Uber idea to the ER is the priority BABM
staying safe and getting sober is the main deal.

then you can work out what to do next.

I agree with you. You are in a bad way. I hope you can get through this. If you go to court smelling of liquor, there will be trouble. If you are a no show, there will be trouble. I'm rooting for ya man.

Take an Uber and please take care of yourself.
Things can and will get better when you get some sober time.

I think making it to court might not be in the cards for you if you didn’t pour out the booze. Showing up intoxicated will be damning.

I dont have a solution unfortunately.

All I can think of is to call the AA hotline to get some support and if you’re willing check into a program so you can explain to the courts you weren’t present bc you were getting help. Sounds like you need a lot of help right now.

I agree with all the others BABM, please get yourself to the ER as a priority. If you are unable to attend court get someone to contact them on your behalf, don't turn up drunk and reeking of alcohol and likewise don't just not turn up. Now's the time to take some responsibility. Good luck, we're all here for you. Keep posting and let us know how it goes. x

Not sure where you’re at but here on the west coast it’s 8:30AM. Wondering how you’re doing and if you made it to court sober.

You need to get detoxed and then treatment for your alcoholism.

ColoradoRocky said it best, above.

BABM - sorry for where you are right now. Among the good advice re going to court, I echo CR big time.

What are you doing today? You do not have to keep drinking. IRL help is there- take it.
