Good first move.
I'd suggest being prepared with answers to questions so you are honest - consumption, physical things, etc. What about seeing someone trained in addiction? Even better, seriously considering treatment? What about AA?

You can't continue this roughly two week cycle forever. Good luck for making good choices to quit for good.

Best of luck Mummy. I think you are living in France like myself. Hope you can get some support and that your doctor will listen.

My first point of call when I realised I was in deep trouble was my GP. Told her the full scope of my problem. It was the best thing I could have done. Best wishes for your road to recovery.

What happens if the doctor tells you something you don't want to hear? What happens if she tells you to do something you have a lot of reasons why you "can't" do it?

Hear something you don't want to hear is a good thing (unless it's super bad).

I'm glad I had a blood test and was told my liver enzymes were high and had fatty liver disease. It made me drastically change my eating habits. Now I only stayed sober for 3 months and then proceeded to relapse every 6 to 8 weeks for the next year. But that was better than heavy drinking every. Because the Dr basically told me I was literally killing myself.

Maybe bad news needs to be heard?

When is your appointment Mummy? Tell the doctor everything but don’t forget to ask questions. I hope you have bloodwork done to check your liver enzymes etc. Please let us know how it goes.
