I need to pledge 24 hours somwhere. So I'll do it here.

I will not drink for 24 hours.

Going to Disney tomorrow for the first time as an adult. I deserve to wake up not feeling like crap when going to Disney.

This is a powerful beginning. The primary drivers of our behavior are our emotions. We drink because we are trying to regain control of our emotions, albeit with a corrupt substitute behavior. When we regain control with a more direct healthy behavior (Disney) there is no addiction! I spent a lifetime regaining control of what I considered intolerable circumstances in life with drugs and booze. It took me over 4 decades to terminate the autopilot of my life and choose to empower myself with more direct healthy behaviors that enabled me to regain control. No one gets addicted to a substance unless they have learned it does something for them (reward)! It's time to unlearn, reprogram, change our thinking and change our life. We all have free will and can choose our best option for lasting happiness. It starts with values and purpose. We just need to see the forest through the trees.

Welcome TheLioness. :)

Please do report back on your adventure. How exciting to go to Disneyland! It is on my bucket list. Agree, it will be so much better with a clear head. :)

Twenty four hours is a great start. That's where every sober person started no matter how long their sobriety.
I hope you have a wonderful adventure.
And, yes, please report back.

Congratulations on taking that first step. You do "deserve" to wake up not feeling like crap. I hope you really have a great time and really enjoy your holiday. When you are done though please remember that you don't deserve it only at Disney. You deserve to wake up every day not feeling like crap!
