The further away I get

I am so thankful for everyone who posts here. The longer I stay healthy and sober the more I read sr. The more I read sr the stronger I feel about my decision to quit drinking. The fog is clearing and I am making moves to clean up my life and repair relationships. There are still a couple of fairly big hurdles between me and how I hope to one day live my life but I am thinking that might be true for everyone. Big changes are scary. But I am getting there.

I like how living sober simplifies my life. No drama, no fuss. Go to bed feeling good and wake up the same way.

From my perspective it is definitely a learning curve to live life without chaos and drama everyday when that is all you have ever known.

Sometimes I think I miss it. That's just nostalgic claptrap. I am slowly adjusting to a balanced life on life's terms. A new experience for sure.

Think I might take up knitting soon.

Glad you are feeling so much better Daisy!

I do admit sometimes I miss living a less stable life. Rebellious, carefree, reckless abandon (read here immature, selfish, dangerous) Living like a grown up is more satisfying though and there are no DUIs or broken dishes

Dee, it's never too late to learn a new skill, right? I have always wanted to be strong enough to do a ropes course.

Appreciated the sincerity and vulnerability of this post.

We must always gives ourselves a pat on the back...because we are not going to do it, we ARE doing it!

Good share. Yes change can be scary. I find for me, if something that is a likely positive, feels uncomfortable- I need to do it.
