Master Cleanse (Lemonade) Diet: Does It Work for Weight Loss?
What exactly is your reasoning behind doing this?
What are you "cleansing"?
Your kidneys, liver and intestines do that job already.
I guess (besides the above) I would strongly caution you NOT to do this in early sobriety. One of the things that increase my anxiety is not eating good nutritious food on a regular schedule. Food is medicine, Mummy.
Eat.
There is absolutely no benefit in a "cleanse."

Waste of time. These kind of things really talk to addict minds as it’s all about a quick fix for something without having to put real work in. Nothing is better for you than eating healthy fresh food in the right quantities and exercise. x
as blue stated, the organs already detox and cleanse 24/7. that is their JOB.
also any type of restricted diet can have a byproduct of some intense cravings, mood swings, etc. and that can have a very bad effect on fragile early sobriety.
the Master Cleanse was originally marketed back in the 40s, had a revival of sorts in the late 70s. and altho not deemed harmful in the short term, it is considered to likely be unhealthy over time. and any weight loss during the "cleanse" (aka fast) will come right back on.
good healthy eating habits should be the goal.

your body is well equipped to eliminate toxins without assistance.
drinking enough water does pretty good at cleansing the body. approved by many, many doctors.
does this "master" cleanse(buzzwords) specify WHAT toxins they aim to remove?

Like anvil says, if this is about weight loss, the 3-6 pounds you lose are just the waste that is in your system when you start the process. Waste accounts for that weight and when food is reintroduced, waste goes into the intestines again.
It literally serves Zero purpose.
