Day 1 again

Was drunk again last night. Have not gone to work and have been sick all morning.

i was 5 months 8 days sober until last Thursday. I wish I had not relapsed. I feel absolutely terrible today.

i have thrown all my remaining alcohol down the sink.

Damn sorry to hear that, but good work chucking it away. D'you know what caused it initially/how you might learn from it?

Chance219 09-05-2019 04:11 AM

Starting over can be hard, but you know how much better Sobriety is.

Hang in there and best wishes moving forward!

Good morning. Hey dust your knees off partner. Keep plugging away. Starting now. . one day at a time. ✌

Its really hard to come back from a relapse...but not impossible.

Getting all the alcohol out of your house is a good start Stable. Don't buy anymore.

Get a few days sober under your belt - search out help for that of you need it - and you'll start to think clearly again :)

My relapses were hard and ugly which is what really helped me to quit drinking. The uglier they got the more of a case I could build against the AV. Use this experience as a tool.

Look. It is not Day 1 again.

It is Day 1.

Make it Day 1.

It’s an old saying, but you’re not starting over from scratch. You’re starting over with experience! I hope this week goes well for you

BeABetterMan 09-05-2019 08:24 PM

Well that sucks. BUT, for me, every relapse was one step closer to sobriety. I just got so sick of Day 1s. Hopefully this will help you stay focused next time you’re at 5 months of sobriety. Good job coming here and being accountable tho.

Pressmetilihurt 09-05-2019 10:00 PM

Yay for getting rid of the booze. You can do this. :)

Robert88 09-05-2019 10:16 PM

Glade that you are back on the forum. It always sounds so cliche but it really is one day at a time. Try not to worry about the past or the future.

Delilah1 09-05-2019 10:39 PM

Glad you’re back!

NicLin 09-05-2019 10:54 PM

Good job for logging on, recommitting yourself and holding yourself accountable and throwing the booze out AND promising to do better AND learning from this....see? You're not gonna do it, you are ALREADY doing it and have already done so much towards your sobriety.

Give yourself a pat on the back for being strong enough to do all of this. You got this!!!

Hi Stable, stick close and you can make this your last day 1.:)
