Happy Fathers Day! Nearly missed it :lmao Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads/Granddads/Greatgrandads and Step Dads celebrating today :) Hugs too to those missing their Dads or for whom Fathers or Fathers Day is in any way a challenge D |
Thanks for putting that up Dee. I had a good chat with my dad. |
Father’s Day is in June in the UK 🙂 This reply isn’t in the spirit of the thread, but it’s in the spirit of the forum. My father died recently. He was 87 and died peacefully at home, so I’m reasonably happy about that. But whilst I’m sad he’s gone, I’m happy, and he’d be happy too, that it didn’t cross my mind to have a drink to “help”. I gave up eight months ago and had felt like a drink in stressful times during the first weeks, but it seems my body and mind don’t need alcohol any more. My dad drank one small glass of whisky a day, which is certainly fine. He was a genuine moderate drinker, so I don’t know where I got my habit from! He didn’t know I was alcohol dependent, but I’m sure he’d be glad I quit 😀 The message is I guess to quit when times are good. When hard times come, it’ll be way easier without booze. Sorry to derail the thread a bit. Happy Father’s Day all 😀 |
Yeah in the Pacific Father Day is today. I'm sorry about your loss Hodd but its not a derail at all. like I said above this thread is also for those who've lost dads or whose relationships with dads or even as dads themselves may be not that great. D |
Happy Father's Day to all those celebrating today! |
