Hey group. Hope you all have a good day. Im snowed in, i live in the
country, and can't get into work even. Im very anxious today, and
emotional. Im thinking its all from being sober this 25 days., and now
I have to face all the issue's inside of me, all the hurt and pain, etc.
(SOBER) Well its my choice to stay sober, and its time i face my
demon's !! Can't recover properly....if i don't take this step.
Need some advise. Thank's.....Donna

You are not alone and you have much to be grateful for with your 25 days sober.
When we stop medicating and numbing our feelings, it can be overwhelming and scary at first. Our addictive brains scream out for their drug of choice and to not feel.

There is a womens meeting here tommorow as well as an AA meeting.

Hi Donna I'm Joe and I'm an alcoholic. I'm 24 days sober today ...one day at a time ....it must be tough being snowed in ..but remember were all here for you on SR . If you've managed to get any phone numbers from AA members in your area then call them ..they will be a wonderful support. Remember the serenity prayer
God grant Me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
The courage to change the things I can.
And the wisdom to know the difference.

If you have a copy of the "Big Book" handy then read it if you can ...I find that this really helps Me to quel My demons. Take care of yourself.

Well I know how you feel I am actually afraid of the day when I have to face my emotions. I have numbed them for so long now. I last used yesterday at 7:30 am. I wish you the best of luck and I know that by the grace of God we cal all do it

It's really good to hear from you tonight. (Well tonight UK time).

Snowed in? Can't get to work? Sounds to me like a great opportunity to immerse yourself in some serious Snowman building.

Whatever you can do, just try and make sure it's something which makes you happy...for Today.

When I am feeling anxiety I find it helpful to put all my feelings down on paper. This is one of the tools my therapist said would be be very useful in recovery.....Try it. And another idea my sponsor gave me is a god bag. Write down your problems whatever they may be on paper and put them in a bag to god...........This works wonders too! Good luck and I'll be thinking of ya!
