Opiates are a beast.

So much respect, my friend.

You know I'm not a fan of self sourcing drugs but you gotta do as you see fit Tom. I think meetings work well for you - pleased you're going that route

Just coming out of suboxone withdrawal myself. I had to hunker down like you did and ride out the storm. The best of luck to you my friend.

Have you tried Smart recovery? https://smartrecovery.org.uk/meetings/
Hellp Houstin,

I've researched Smart recovery but found that I didn't agree with a lot of what I read. However, I know people who've found success with Smart recovery, it's just not for me.

Ah man how I wish I'd never taken that first pill. Opiate withdrawal makes cocaine withdrawal seem like a walk in the park. I mean it really was, when I kicked cocaine I didn't have any physical symptoms when I came off it. My head was a mess but my body was good.

Now the physical withdrawal is what's holding me back. Once that's out of the way and I just have my head to deal with I'll be in a better place.

Neither am I Dee to be fair. Unfortunately a lot of the opiate replacement programs round here are underfunded and take a couple of weeks to assess you and prescribe you with something. It's not ideal but it is what it is.

I've been using subutex (suboxone without the naloxone). It's a very very low dose and it's in transdermal patches. They're just enough to keep me from kicking but I still feel like crap.
