Hi again

I am back again to change the direction my life continues to go with alcohol.
3 full days already behind me
Looking forward to feeling a glimpse of happiness and alot more motivation to get things done.
Hard work untangling the mess that surrounds me. It can only be done with a clear head.
....feeling ready for this battle

I am also about 2 weeks back from a pretty bad 5 days bender. doing something different for the first time, getting counseling/therapy on top of AA here and there.
try to see what is missing and implement it to your sobriety/recovery

Congratulations!

Consider this: All human behavior is driven by the pursuit of happiness and that, when you choose to do something, you do so because you see it as your best available option. This concept is vitally important because the only way you will stop desiring heavy substances and change your behavior is by seeing more happiness in the change than in the using. You must reach that conclusion yourself because, as Aristotle said, “We desire in accordance with our deliberation.”

There’s a great life in recovery that awaits if you stay sober each day and do the work 🙏

Welcome back FC

Wanting to quit is great - but you need action behind it. You need a plan.
Got any ideas FinalCall?

feeling "ready" is a really good sign.

I hope you can do it.....the first 3 days are the roughest....although I had a pretty rough time for 6 days.....past day 50 now.

Still here. Still determined.
a few things I have heard or read that I have added to my toolkit. The playing the tape forward is something I will use when I think a drink will be ok. Thinking ahead not just the day or two but the weeks and months after down that slippery slope I know too well.
The understanding that willpower alone will run out or crack a part. So I have to not want to drink anymore. Acknowledge it not ignore it.
most of all I intend to not dwell on the past and judge myself for who I am at this moment and every moment to come. I truly can be my worst enemy on this journey.

Happy Day 4...sometimes I think the first week is probably worse than the first year...it does get easier..you sound good...and I am routing for you as you battle what is yet to come....

Life is hard drunk...Life is hard sober too.....but the feelings of getting to know yourself SOBER...and LIKING yourself are WORTH IT.

I'm Doing well D.
friday afternoon here and I'm a couple of hours away from 5 full days. More commited than I have ever been to living without beer. My cravings are subtle for some reason this time but my head still feels cluttered. Sleep has been good. Early nights early starts.
Bit of a busy weekend cleaning up the evidence of my time as a drunk around here. Will be good to get some loads to the tip.
It's going optimistic at the moment

100% about the clear head from not drinking. This is one of the top benefits I’ve experienced from sobriety that kicks in real early & keeps me going with positive energy.
