glad to be here

I am a bit past 6 month milestone being alcohol free. I have been going to AA but despite reaching out have not been able to connect with members. I will still go to meetings but am grateful there is other support like this available. don't want to drink again.

Ho MKS, I’m having a little trouble connecting at my meetings too so I can relate. But 6 months is incredible. Do you have a sponsor?

Welcome to the family. Congrats on six months sober! I would suggest you post regularly, and read a lot. Lots of wisdom in these pages.

The only thing I can suggest to shore up your sobriety is to practice gratitude every day. I did, and it helped me a lot.

Hello and welcome.
I never really connected with other AA members on the level of friendship, but I did connect with through our shared problem with drink.
I mostly just listened.
I looked for the similarities I had in common with the others, but I never really made a friend in AA.
I kept going back, though and it sure enough kept me sober.
