You have a lot of supporters here, and sounds like a friend in NY who is willing to help you out. Call your local AA chapter too and I'm sure they have someone who might be willing to help.

I'm sorry you are hurting. There is nothing like the lonely feeling when drinking by yourself.

Sleep does help. Can you drink a little warm milk or hot chocolate first? That and a shower often helps me relax and let go a bit.

A good cuddle with your puppy babies also helps hugely--Mine sleep on the bed next to me either side and just feeling them against me is grounding.

I hope the sleep helps. Eating something could also be helpful and make you feel better.

You know that you have friends here and you can post anytime.

I am sorry you are suffering. I can't take away your pain, if I could I would.

Hope you have some inner peace while sleeping.

I agree that snuggling with your dogs might be very relaxing for you and them too.

Shift, that's right, you are not alone. Even if you don't know it or recognize it but there is a Higher Power that loves you very much. After resting, how about going to a meeting?

I heard this recently: addiction is isolation; recovery is connection.

I hope you and your doggies find some comfort together. I'm in love with my dog...I cannot imagine life without my critters!

Please get your detox meds. Go to AA.....amazing folks there that can really help you.

And your doggies need you

At my worst in withdrawal, I used to watch my golden retriever sleep because he slept so calmly that it would help calm me.

Shift I am so sorry that you are hurting. It seems like an abyss that had no out, but try to remember that everything is temporary, this too will pass.

Do whatever calms you, a bath, a funny movie, breathing techniques, cooking some good food and reading something relaxing. I found that playing some classical music calms me down too. I know that anxious feeling, but know it will go away and you will be ok.

Call the person who calms you down, talk to them openly and know that you have everyone here as well.

Hope you are alright, know you will be.

Hope you are a bit better Shift.
Hot gentle shower or bath with herbal tea calmed me some and often got me a little sleep Day zero.
