Lunar, I saw a cute little bright green frog this morning when I was picking (more) blackberries. By the time I got my phone out he had hopped into the brambles.

So many relapse stories in the forums.

Be careful out there. Nothing good in the bottom of the bottle. I can't even imagine how awful I'd feel if I started up again.

So, I won't.

I just got some really good news, long story, but it will make my life better and it won't cost me anything.

I guess all the weekenders are sleeping, eh? Maybe I need to start a Weekenders/U.S. Edition. I kind of feel like no one is ever here during my days.

Bim, I'm here!!

It's almost 9pm and I'm still at the zoo. There's a night event and I need to wait for the zipline bag to come up so I can count it and get out of here. It's been a good day, though. The Friend With Whom I Had a Falling Out and I are better. My issue now is that I still miss him in the way things used to be. Sucks.

Other than that it was fine. I'm gonna get a lot of hours today (over 10 lol) so that's some good money. I also talked to the security guard who is getting so screwed from his company and I told him I'd get a legal opinion from the law firm I work at. It feels good to be able to help someone.

So, overall a good day. I don't think much about drinking these days, but I can't afford to forget what it was like.

I'll probably get home around 9:30 and then it's right back to the zoo the next day at 10am.

I appreciate all of you more than y'all know, probably. Happy sober Saturday.

Yay,

I'm not alone...

My good news came about mostly because I was the squeaky wheel for a very long time. It was wearing me out, so I'm glad something finally happened. It is hard to stay after people year after year about the same issue.

Halle-freakin-luja

and I'll believe it when I actually see it.

Me? Cynical? NAH!!!

Hi, Dee!!

Dpac, I'm glad you made up with friend-zone guy.

*edit, hi clover.

I started complaining in 2007.

I should have just hired an attorney. As it was I just wore them down with all my spare time and emails and texts.

I guess eventually the complaining reaches some level of annoyance that it starts being heard. Like that mosquito in the bedroom that gets close to my ear.

Spare time for the Win!

Glad your gadflyness paid off bim.

You are right about all the relapse stories.
I don't wanna go there ever again.

I'm off to bed.
Meet you all for a sober cup of coffee tomorrow morning

It's 8:30 here and I'm pooped. Got my band saw, it didn't come with a fence so I made one. Made three actually, that last one being the best. So in reality I made some scrap wood and a fence. Then I made more scrap wood practicing cuts. It works as expected, well enough if your patient with it. So I'm happy.

Got the support base made for my soon-to-be work bench. Think I need to do a little bit more re-enforcing before I put a top on it. One of the wheels I bought is on back order, expected next week. The shop sells them in quantities of four but only had three in stock, lol.

So, I'm picturing you making a fence, like around your yard...only I suspect this fence you are talking about is some safety thing around the saw or saw table itself.

Thanks to those who checked in. I need you guys to keep me grounded.

I'm going to log off and rest on the couch for an hour before bedtime.

Seems appropriate as I am currently in the middle of a pint of Ben & Jerrys ice cream. ( to be fair I just got back from the gym but I digress...)

Hot summers bring out the the guilty pleasures, but there's one guilty pleasure I'm glad to have off my back and that is drinking.

Happy to be here with my ice cream on a Saturday evening, ready to watch Netflix

Hiya Weekenders

Have a safe journey Saou.

Bim, I love your technique for blackberry picking. I used to get ravaged by the bushes. Nothing like a bit of common sense to help along the way.

I missed a day! Was laid up between the bathroom and my bed but I can categorically say it wasn’t through booze. That was the only good thing about it.

To think a lot of my weekends were hungover or drunk. So happy that’s all behind me.

Have a good Sunday

Sunday morning

loving this thread - so much going on !

Vman - your "conversation" between police and Bim was hilarious.

Bim,The blackberry picking sounds like serious stuff - hope you don't feel guilty stuffing your face with them after putting yourself into such peril to gett at them

I don't know blackberries - but I do know blueberries and I've been pigging out on them for a while now.

Took out my juicer yesterday and made some wonderful juices - one with lots of ginger too - lovely. Now I have no fruit left in the house
Felt good about it - healthy and the mush that was left over went straight into my earthworm farm. They are having a smorgasbord.

Saou - good luck with the op and enjoy Scotland. Envious ... for the trip, not the op. Don't make any insurance deals with the doctor - haha

Captain, saw your name on here - how are you doing , my fellow South African ?

Have a super Sunday , filled to the brim with non-guilty pleasures . No, make that guilty pleasures . Chocolates, ice cream, binge watching your favourite show, napping in the middle of the day, oh , the list is never ending with possibilities.
