It is day 2.5 I think. I am not entirely sure. I still feel really sick but can keep fluids down. No sleep and really uncomfortable roll to one side for 30 seconds then roll to the other. Really restless because I am achy all over.

Okay good. Do you feel that you need medical help for a safe withdrawal? My seizures hit me on day 3 or 4 of cold turkey withdrawal and fortunately my neighbors had called an ambulance and I was hospitalized for 10 days and then rehab for two months after that. With your history I still think it may be wise to get medical assistance. I think you live in the Ukraine though and I don't think your alcoholism treatment is as available as it is in the US.

Yes, that is why I am a little at a loss about what to do. I know there are drugs to prevent seizures. I would seek medical help but there is also the issue of cost.

My seizure was on day three also and the scariest thing was I was feeling fine. It felt like the worst was over.

Do you have a doctor you could call to explain the situation and see if he can prescribe you librium or whatever? How far are you from the nearest ER?

No, I don't know a doctor. Nearest ER is more than 2 miles away

I've been where you are too, Struggling....with the seizures on day 3 or 4. If there's any way to get to the ER, (taxi or Uber?) please go.
Tell them you've had seizures before and are feeling like you might have one soon.
Are you getting any seizure auras?

Still feel zapped. Have had no sleep and I have a splitting headache. Seems no amount of water I drink takes away that parched feeling but it seems the worst has passed. I know I am not out of the woods yet but feeling almost human.

I think you're probably right and that things will begin to improve now. Hang in there and keep taking care of yourself.

This is the first time I have gone cold turkey. I was and am still aware of the dangers. The other times I tried I lost my resolve and picked up again just to take away the symptoms.

Otherwise, I have had medical detox, and I am so ashamed to say that is six times now, every time I failed. It compounds all the other losses I have suffered to this disease. At 5am this morning I never felt so low and hopeless.

A few mornings ago ST, you were much lower and more hopeless. Read your posts on this thread and look back. I am so sorry you are still feeling that way and wish I could take it from you. Stay with us.
