Sunny, hazy boozy days Weekenders 26 - 29 July 2019
Sugar free Lemonade, good for the sweet craving and 2 espressos a day. I certainly drank to get drunk, not because the taste of wine was so awesome. I know many people are against alcohol free beer but for me it works at social occasions. Not tempted at all.
I'd like to join you all this weekend.
My go to drinks are decafe coffee, lots of ice water and herbal tea. 😊 I love anything ginger as well, my daughter and I often make lemon ginger cayenne wellness "shots". Definte way to clear the sinuses!

Welcome, Citrus!
I also love ginger, and lots of it. I sometimes put a hunk of fresh ginger in my green smoothies. So good.
No fishing, Lunar! I am so so busy this summer. Really hoping to do some before the snow flies around here.

In!
Welcome to Weekenders Citrus!
I have lost the desire desire to drink much soda other than carbonated water these days. Conversely (and annoyingly) I want more cake, ice cream and chocolate than I used to. I really, really enjoyed the stuff in the photo which I bought when I visited an old stately home called Chatsworth House when a meeting got cancelled. I have not seen it retailed elsewhere. They must have really seen me coming when I bought it - £2.50! That's about US $4. I would have refused but I had to queue to pay for it.
Most people at work went home at 3pm today due to the heat which I think hit about 37C/99F. Not quite a record but close. At one point downstairs they were running one of the industrial atomisers open with just water which cools the surrounding air. Incidentally, nearby are some small canisters of pure ethanol (alcohol). A small amount added to the water makes the droplets smaller and more homogeneous in size. Even when I was still drinking I was not tempted to try that!

All these delicious drinks I’m hearing about makes me want to have a change. I love lemon and lime and ginger, so will give them a go I think.
Saou, I think you can get that drink from some large supermarkets, but whether that flavour is made specifically for Chatsworth House

it's cooling off here now a bit, thankfully. having gone from the second hottest day on record, we are forecast thunderstorms & flooding overnight - go figure!

I hope you can find them more realistically priced MLD, it does taste good.
Thanks Andy. 65p a can is more like it mind you my nearest waitrose is a mile and a half away in the Barbican. I've heard that men have to wear a dinner jacket to be allowed in to Waitrose.

I don't like soda anymore either sao and I grew up with it practically in my baby bottle.
These days I like lemon seltzer water and also unsweet ice tea. I think I drink more dark roast coffee than anything, however, as it's my "comfort drink".
I do drink lots of plain water, or water with a bit of salt in it for keto.
Unlike many people, I really like plain water--cold or room temperature. Even better with a bit of lime or cucumber in it.
My friend from Korea likes to drink hot water like tea, which I guess is common in Korea. The waitress always gives a strange look when she asks for it. Cultural differences I suppose. . .
Heat wave has broken somewhat around here but still full on summer in midwest USA which is always kind of hot and muggy.
The dogs and I cower in the AC with short walk breaks when we work up the nerve

Mesa I didn’t know kombucha might have traces of alcohol in it
I probably haven’t read the labels correctly, or maybe only some brands of kombucha put that on the label...
I knew kombucha was fermented but I thought it was different fermentation to produce probiotics, because it’s chockablock full of probiotics, better than yogurt, and supposedly really good for gastrointestinal health, which I need to help.
The ginger, lemon and turmeric is my favourite. I absolutely love it, but I thought I was being super healthy too. Having said that, I only have one as a special treat now and then, maybe once a month or so, as it’s quite expensive ($4 -$8 each).
I guess if it’s only one now and then it’s probably ok but I may have to look for some other gingery lemony drink instead.
I love ginger and lemon anything.
I also love cranberry and soda water
And sparking water with a slice of lemon or lime.
Oh, and coffee
And lots of water is important.

I think the alcohol content is very low Willow as it is sold as a cordial here rather than in the alcohol section so I shouldn't worry too much, especially if it is a commercial brand.
VMan, I hope all is well, I know it is unbearably hot in France right now.
I can see lighting some miles due east of Saoutchik Towers. We could do with a storm to break the heat.
