Should I bother going to a mtg today?

I'm afraid it will be full of 🔥 and brimstone (whatever that is). Every day I have to make a choice. Today is day 8 of making the choice not to drink. I'd usually be drinking by now. I've never woken up unhappy that I decided not to drink
the day before. Never. I ALWAYS regret it. Today I'm staying in. Working around the house. Watching the tour de France. Maybe a nap since I don't have my kid today. I get lonely and wonder if a mtg will help. I've tried the steps. Not all of course. I just want to be clean. 💙 you folks.

Well, you've got me wondering if you should go to a meeting tonight. In the "you should" column this is a good time. Your kid won't be around. You're by yourself, and it's a perfect time to slip out of the house with out shirking any responsibility. I don't really understand why there's a question about it. Maybe you don't want to go.

I'd say 'go'. If you have no responsibilities to keep you at home, go to the meeting. Might learn something new there.

The fact you mentioned that you get lonely makes me think that a meeting might be a good idea. Even if it is fire and brimstone.

What other alternative forms of recovery support have you made arrangements for?

If you haven't proactively worked out something else, I'd go to the AA meeting.

I think you should do whatever you need to do to stay sober.

I always figure that the potential to learn something is exponentially better if I go to a meeting than if I stay home by myself.

I think it's TomSteve or maybe Carl who has a rule: if you have to ask you probably should go.

Go...whats the harm in an hour, Press?

Whenever I started questioning my "should I's", when it came to my recovery, 8/10 times that 'feeling/thought was complacency in my recovery and my AV or whatever you want to call it trying to get back in.
