Mathew234,
I'm not a doctor and don't even play one on TV so can't really say but maybe if you provide additional info, other may be able to offer suggestions.

And again, welcome!

Hi Matthew

I really have no idea -I'm always looking to lose weight - but I'm sure others will have experience to share.

The trick is to do it healthily - if you haven;t thought about seeing a nutritionist or a dietician, it might be worth considering?

im always trying to lose weight as well, but you could try using myfitnesspal, they have an app and website where you can track what youre eating (calories) just keep slowly increasing calories until you start putting on weight. Eat a pint of your favorite ice cream a night, I wish I could do that.

There are supplement drinks that are high calorie. Maybe get some of those and add them to your diet.

Hi Mathew I have the opposite problem, but I did see a dietician once a week for a while who gave me some pointers and guidelines and they might be able to do the same for you. Good luck!

A trainer should be able to help you out with a diet and gym plan.

I started losing weight fast just from not drinking. That could be part of it. But if you keep losing once your body is more used to not having alcohol, and you aren’t trying to lose, I’d check with your doctor. There are sometimes medical conditions that can affect your metabolism, and not to scare you, but could be serious.

Otherwise, eat whoppers like whopper said

Nuts and protein shakes are good too.

if you are eating lots and not gaining, a doctor visit would be a good idea.

I found it hard to keep weight on and still do.
I have to eat 3-4 meals a day to remain at my ideal weight.
Trying to replace the booze calories for food calories was quite a challenge for me.
Healthy routine/lifestyle is paramount although still not quite there myself.

I also find a lot of people think I am too thin because it’s not their idea of the right height-weight . When actually I am within the ideal BMI part of the chart.

I would make sure that you eat healthily Matthew that is the most important thing and if you want to increase the amount of muscle tissue then you need to to do some anaerobic exercise - a mixture of weights and resistance training is best (imo) as it covers the most muscle groups and in a fairly even way. I would still do a bit of aerobic (running etc) exercise to stay healthy.

I don't think i'm breaking any medical advice rules to suggest avoiding any "quick fix" solutions that come in tablet or injection form. I hope that last part doesn't come over as patronising as I'm sure you are already well aware of the potential risks.
