Day one
Today is the beginning of my new sobriety. I realised I had a problem with alcohol when I would drink until I ran out of wine, then go and get more. And continue drinking until I blacked out or passed out. Every single day.
But today is the day I decide to get my life back. To stop hiding my emotions behind the alcohol.
I'm living someone where I don't have access to AA meetings and would love some support.

Hey Melissa,
Welcome to SR. I am sailing around SE Asia at the moment and meetings can be hard to find. I enjoy them when I can get there but they are not essential to my continued sobriety. I try to live by the suggestions in the AA book, part of which has given me a higher power that is completely portable and gives me the power to stay sober no matter what. I did however build a foundation by taking the steps in the conventional way.
I also like to post here from time to time. You will find all kinds of interesting people who offer lots of encouragement and support.
All the best in your journey.

Welcome! Glad you are here and echo what Gottalife said.
Have you looked into the Class of July 2019 thread here? It's a group of folks quitting this month too. Just post to "join." My class thread was one of the best resources here from my beginning.
