I did it!

I made it thru day 1! Might not seem like alot, but to me...it's everything. I've never completed day 1, and I've tried 1,000,000 times. Hubby and I had plans to go to his BFF's house for a cookout, which we usually stop and get a case of beer for, but we didn't. While I adore his BFF, his wife, not so much! I have always believed I needed to get drunk just to tolerate her. That is not true. We went, chatted, ate, chatted some more, then left. If I started to feel annoyed, or anxious....I left the room or went outside to smoke. And as ignorant as my Hubby is about alcoholism, he picked up on what I was doing and decided it was time to leave. When we did get home, I got on here for a bit, then went to bed. I fell asleep quickly, but then the sweats started and it was a miserable night The shakes are pretty bad this morning and I'm expecting them to get worse, but I think I'm ready. I've BEEN ready cause I'm done. I also feel really sick to my stomach. I need to eat something to take my AM pills, but not sure even a morsel of toast is gonna stay down, so not sure what I'm gonna do there. Sorry so long....just wanted to check in. And I will not drink today. I want to see what 2 days feels like....

Good job on completing day one. Next few days will be hard but it will get easier once the physical effects of withdrawing are done with. Keep going alcohol is a poison you don’t need.

I wish I could sell the feeling I got when I was sober for some continuous time. I could move to Bora Bora.

It all starts on Day One. Well done, you.

Great work braebear! I just reached 14 days and I've just posted on the June class my surprise at the fact that the time between 1 day and 14 days went so fast. And in two weeks time that will be you. Very well done. Keep on going.

Thanks everyone! Just took my pup on a little walk! With my back pain, that is something big, but this is one of my daily goals...maybe we both will lose a little weight!!!

Years ago I lost a lot of weight and nearly all my pain problems disappeared or got a whole lot better.

Walking also helps me a lot with anxiety and spinning thoughts. After 15-20 minutes my mind clears.

Congrats on first day. Yes it is a milestone. But you're not out of the woods yet I am just keeping it real. Worse case take yourself to ER. But Stay hydrated so that the poison can start coming out. And your going to feel like poop. Keep that feeling in your memory bank. It will be part of your toolbox. Might be one of the best tools you'll use. It's my go to tool. And now I am on day 62. Prayers your way
