Crap

Had some blood drawn for my upcoming GI appt. Received a call today that my liver enzymes are worse than this time last year. Sigh....

Now on to another ultrasound and take it from there.

Thanks, DriGuy. My initial response was to freak out but I’m just going to take it one day at a time and follow the drs orders. Also not going to do any online research...that never does any good.

Mine fluctuated for no apparent reason & eventually came down. Good luck.

They do go up and down for sure and for sure never Dr. Google. That never ends well no matter what you search. The body is very complicated and there are tons of reasons for anything that may be happening.

Don't freak out too much. If you've stopped drinking and still are having high counts it could be your liver repairing its self and removing all the bad stuff. I'm no doctor but I did a 3 day fast before a health check. My stuff was all whacked out probably because I was purging.

Thanks everybody. Off to my annual physical. Maybe my regular doc can help make some sense of it all.

For the past 20 years they have been double the upper limit. I don’t have specifics yet but they have increased from there. Just odd that they were high, but stable, for my entire drinking career. And after a year sober they increased. It’s a head scratcher...

I believe livers can heal and so I would stay positive. Thoughts going your way.

If you're having bad anxiety about it (I know I would) maybe make some small changes that are liver friendly. Foods, exercise, etc. Try not to dwell on it too much til you have more info.

You can get through this.
