Taking myself to the hospital

Please pray for me. I relapsed and I'm a mess. I have literally hit rock bottom. I haven't eaten anything in days and I am severely dehydrated. I can barely move. I don't have insurance, but I know I need to go. I'm sure they are going to admit me so I will update when I get home. I'm beyond terrified and I'm angry at myself for doing this.

Last time I did that they had me stay overnight with a saline drip. I did have insurance but was still billed a bit over $1800 from my insurance company, and that was almost 15 years ago. Never again will I optionally go to the er. Although the next best option is to wait two or three weeks for a dr appointment

Anna 06-28-2019 11:39 AM

I think, since the member is in bad physical shape, that going to the hospital, regardless of the cost, is the best choice. It could be too risky to wait for a doctor's visit.

Abraham 06-28-2019 12:04 PM

Perhaps. I know it certainly wont hurt her any. I dont indulge in giving medical advice one way or the other, so I will not advise one way or the other. Thats entirely up to her. I was just giving my experience of what happened when I went. I even waited to post several hours later so as to not influence her decision. I was in bad shape also, but after all is said and done 15 years later, I still regret the decision to go. Hopefully she will have a better experience.

I'm glad you're going to the hospital StrengthNMe.
I didn't, and I still regret that decision everyday.

Some things are worth more than money IMO - and continued good health is one of them.

Let us know how you get on :)
