Hey Mummyto2
I relapsed many times. It was so hard for me to resist when the cravings took over. Eventually the aftermath of the drinking became so bad that resisting the cravings became easier. I am sober over a year now because my relapses just weren't worth it anymore.

Isn't it like quitting smoking and then starting again? You find you actually smoke more to make for "lost time"? It has been with drinking in my case in my five year alcoholic career. I always drank before that. But socially. At 32 I was introduced to vodka and apart from three months off it at longest, then 15 days, then four, I went back to EVERY DAY and each time it was worse. The withdrawals became worse and worse with each stop.

So now is the perfect time to decide what your plan is. For tonight, for the Monday/kids/summer/whatever routine...and what you are going to start doing to get and stay sober. The acceptance piece, the practical and new habits piece, the IRL/here support, the....

What can you- are you willing to- put into action every day that takes you further away from ever taking a drink or thinking it's even an option, rather than back closer to one?

I know the AV was knocking recently on your door. This cycle doesn't end until you make it end. You have all the reasons in the world, as I know you know. Hoping you can finally see that you can never, ever pick up again. Good for you for coming back. Let us know how you are doing.
