Hello, everyone!

I just wanted to check in real quick and say hello! I get on here and read the posts almost daily and it helps me very much! I am now at 79 days sober. It has gotten easier for sure but I still have moments of craving. At least now I have learned that they don't last. I have a regular schedule for support. Mondays are out patient group, tuesdays meet with sponsor (she's awesome and im blessed to have her!), Wednesday's and Thursday's i go to an AA meeting. And i get on here and read, which is so helpful! Plus, i work full time so keeping busy is vital for me. Without all of this support, i know i wouldnt have made it this far. Early sobriety is hard. Change is hard. But we're all learning to do this together! Hang in there everyone! And thank you to each and every one of you that posts here! I am rooting for us all! ❤

So beautiful 79 days sober and YES you are super busy...that is good.

When I had long term sobriety I could not take a vacation day for a year because I was afraid I would drink if I had any free time...so I think you are right on track with staying busy.

You will get to a point where you feel "safe" enough to slow down a little.

Sounds like you have a lot of good support and its nice to meet you....
Glad you are here too.

Thank you Misssy! It's nice to meet you, too and I'm glad you are here! 😊 yes, i know i wont always have to work at it so hard but i was one of those who "quit" every 2 weeks or so! and truly, if it wasn't for almost losing my job after another binge, I would probably still be drinking and "trying" to quit. It has been a bit lonely as i cant hang out with most people i know because they all drink and its way to soon for me to be able to handle that. But i know that someday, i won't be so vulnerable. Hope you're having a good evening!

Everything happens for a reason...so you almost lost your job...

You have decided your job is more important than drinking....and that you need "some space" from your friends...your so right it doesn't have to be forever...you are putting yourself and your sobriety first and it is so important for us to do that if we are to be succesful and have fullfilling lives.

I promise you because I have had long term sobriety....if you put sobriety first and work on yourself for a little while...you WILL become strong enough to even hang with those old friends again if that is what you want in the future.

You should be proud of yourself for making good choices for yourself.

Yes, my evening is good...I'm sober and resting....and pretty OK with it.

I'd bet on you if such a thing were possible. I just have this feeling that you're going to make it.
