I made better food choices today. Homemade soup then fruit and greek yoghurt for lunch and just had lobster with melted cheese then pork and cauli.

And I bet you feel great.

I am very very bad with the H in HALTs..... and I am way too hungry at almost 3pm. I have only eaten toast and vegemite today. Bad Suze. Off to have yogurt.

I'm new to the group but quit drinking cold turkey on 6/12/19 so I'm on day 7. This is the longest i have gone without drinking in about 27 years. Feeling great so far.

Enjoy the yoghurt Venus

Welcome Denny

So today I made the decision, the money I used to spend on drink I am going to spend on fitness! I have my first gym session this weekend. I have no suitable clothes but will see how I get on and then buy some proper stuff.

Done over 10000 steps today and slept better last night. Really interesting to see how my sleep has improved all week according to my fitpro sleep measurer thingy.

Congrats RAL!
im finding sleep a bit up in the air, trying to go to bed early, but sometimes I feel so physically tired and as soon as my head hurts the pillow, my brain is fully awake.
In saying that, I'm loving that I'm making more of my sober days. When I think of the groggy mornings, feeling and looking terrible, I'm not missing those!

Hello, class! I don't have anything to add to the cheese discussion, but I sure am enjoying reading about it. It's nice to have lighthearted conversation intermixed with some of the challenges and struggles!

Way to go on the accomplishments everyone!

To those who are struggling a bit I an rooting for you.

Day 4 has been going smoothly for me. Yesterday however was just AWFUL.

I got so overwhelemed with my constant problems piling up on top of me that i even started to think that I should just KILL MYSELF (see my post history for the details of that).

But with the love and support of the people on this forum I made it thru and I feel 100x better today. Its been a good day, I went to an NA meeting at noon and have been out and about running errands.

If you can weather the storm and "hang in there kitty" until day 14 I believe it gets easier after that.

My head is in a complete fog until day 14. Thats why I am careful not to make any big decisions in these 14 days and I even locked myself out of the house because my brain is so frazzled.

I also burned the oatmeal on the stove

Welcome Denny

for those new to monthly threads, we routinely close a thread at around 500 posts and then immediately open a part 2 - so look for that soon

New as well, I figured better late than never if thats ok. I quit on the 10th. Denny I am in just about the exact same spot. Been drinking since I was 14 in 1985(I'm 47 now) but probably everyday for about 27 years or so. I did quit once about 4 years ago for about 2 weeks. I was not counting and just quit cuz I thought I had to for probation from a DUI. When I found out I could work the system I started drinking again. This time I'm quitting because I want to. I'm at day 10 the second longest time I have not drank in about 25 years. Happy to be here with you all.

Hi everyone - I'm on day 20 and would like to join this class.

Its been a pretty good few weeks, although days ~4-8ish was pretty bad. Day 6 especially I wanted to crawl out of my skin. Its kind of amazing how different I feel today just 2 weeks later. Since then its been mostly getting better with a few urges but no real hard cravings. I've noticed the last few days especially my memory and concentration definitely getting better, and have been feeling calmer at work and in general (and just generally happier). I feel very grateful to be in this place (both my sobriety and on SR with all of you).

I hope you all are doing well, as best you can be for where we're at
