Crawling back (literally) tail between my legs

So here I am again...
It’s after midnight so I guess this will be day 1 for me. Not much to say at this point other than I need to get my head around quitting alcohol for good. I’m sick all the time, it’s actually scary. Going to get some sleep, then come back here tomorrow and read some posts.

Quitting is hard but not as hard as not quitting. Good luck.

Alcohol abuse does some nasty things to anything it touches internally - blood vessels, the entire digestive system (including pancreas and especially liver), brain, nervous system, and even your heart (alcoholic cardiomyopathy is terrifying).

If you feel sick when you stop drinking but functional while you're drinking, that is probably withdrawal. After a while, the symptoms of organ damage caused by drinking and withdrawal symptoms merge, and the organ damage symptoms will remain after the withdrawal symptoms subside.

End stage liver disease (cirrhosis) is a horrible way to die.
You can do it. One day at a time and be easy on yourself. A lot of people have problems with alcohol.

Glad you posted. Hope you get a good night's rest. There are many options and ways of support out there. Tomorrow just focus on not drinking for the day, and work on seeking out some support. That would be a fantastic start, you can do it!

Hi Franky. I'm glad you didn't settle for feeling sick and miserable. Your sober life is waiting, & you can get free. Hoping you keep reading & posting. We care.

Glad you made it back. Some don't. I hope you have a solid plan for sobriety so you can make this your last day one.
