Living with someone in recovery.
Living with someone in recovery.
Need I say more? I am here looking for support and so far I feel better to find that many of my issues in our relationship are not just "ours" but part of the life I am living now.
Needless to say I am about two steps from the door.
My self confidence and ego are suffering in this relationship and I'm getting drained.
Deep breath, pulling up big girl britches and deciding what to do.
Any words of wisdom?

Haha! Nope, I think its pretty challenging. I live with myself in recovery and that is difficult. Relationships are hard in the best of circumstances.
Also there is a friends and family subforum where its ALL people doing exactly what you are doing. There is a ton of great perspective about 'us'.
All I can say is take care of you. Whatever that means. An addict, especially in early recovery, can have a way of sucking all the air out of the room, if you know what I mean.

Hi CraZyN8tes and welcome, sorry for what brings you here, of course!
Unfortunately there are many that have walked in your same shoes, however fortunate that there is a wealth of information and support here.
You might want to have a look at the Friends and Family of Alcoholics forum which can be found here:
https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...ly-alcoholics/
Lots of threads there you may find of interest. Also in the stickies section there is a lot of information, this is a good place to start if you are interested:

In fact there is a new thread today from someone whose SO is currently in recovery:
