oh that;s awful. there must be nothing worse than losing your child. My thoughts are with you and your friend. hopefully he will start sobriety again.

Very sorry to hear that January, and yes it's a horrible thing ( addiction ). I hope he can quit drinking. Peace to you, him and his family in what must be a very desperate time.

As a parent, I cannot imagine anything worse than losing a child. I’m so sorry about your friend’s daughter. I’m sure he’s going to need a lot of support to get through this, I hope he has a good network.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Newbeginning421 05-27-2019 10:12 AM

Wow just awful not even sure what to say. Your friend certainly will need a lot of support.

CupofJoe 05-27-2019 10:35 AM

How very tragic. I'm deeply sorry for your friend, his daughter, and you. I'm really sorry.

ThatWasTheOldMe 05-27-2019 10:41 AM

I'm sorry to hear that.
My 22 year old niece shot herself in 2016. It destroyed my family and I (as pathetic and terrible as this is) used it as a reason to drink myself stupid for God knows how long.

She was very drunk when she did that.

thomas11 05-27-2019 11:15 AM

Very sad. Seems to happen way too often nowadays.

ChloeRose63 05-27-2019 11:23 AM

How terrible!
Sending prayers of healing.

It is sad to hear news like this. Thank God
we have our SR, Sober Recovery network
available to all those seeking sobriety and
recovery for addiction.

SR also has a strong support of caring, understanding,
knowledgeable folks to lend an ear, share some comfort
and offer a shoulder to lean on when going thru situations
associated with addiction.

Thank for sharing this news as we understand.

Take care of yourself because you are
important too.

lots of prayers

SoberLeigh 05-27-2019 02:09 PM

Oh, January, I am so sorry for both tragedies. The loss of a child is truly unbearable, an agony like no other.

I pray that your friend has a strong network; he will need that network for a long, long time. What I found I needed, more than anything else, was someone to listen, just listen.

Many prayers for your friend.

I'm sorry for your friend and his dreadful loss January.

Hi January,

I guess there are no words that can help in these times. However, hang in there and you'll find some support in here.

Remember that time heals everything. Look for a sense of hope. Thinks will get better.

Big big hug.
