Winging it.

Day 1 again today but have made it, and have high hopes for Day 2 tomorrow.

Yeah, I recommend a recovery action plan

It's not hard - but a little bit of forethought can get you out of tricky situations.

Looking back, Friday evening after work was my Day 7 downfall. Need to start thinking about this upcoming Friday evening.

I made the Decision on Day One and every single thing I did after that was done with the intent to support my Decision.

I don't know how to explain it other than that, but there simply is not any reason on earth that would be a good reason to drink once I decided to stop forever.

I'm not a drinker now. Not on Friday, not on Monday, not when the car breaks or the cat dies or when someone bad-mouths me or when others are drinking or at any other time. It's continuous sober time for me or I'm lying to myself about that Decision.

Hey all!

I'm back. On Day 5 today. Have been to the doc and am taking some medication daily to assist. So far it's going really well. I am very positive.

Going to visit an AA meeting for the first time on Monday.

And am seeing a psych monthly also. Have been working towards this for a while, and pulled the trigger on it last Tuesday.

I’ve had a few “Day 1s” myself. I totally agree that support is essential. It sounds like you have a good plan laid out. I went to one AA meeting years ago (court ordered). I actually enjoyed it, but was very overwhelmed by how many people who were there and struggling with the same thing. I’m going to another meeting next week, and am looking forward to it. Best wishes to you!

Congrats on day5!

Before you know it there will be a 0 or 2 behind that 5.

Just keep on keeping on.

Hi Gigabit. New here. Living in Day 58. Drank hard for over 30 years. Best 58 days of my life. I hope I can stay sober. One thing that has really helped me is veterans like you telling me where I might go wrong. I was down the road a ways towards death, and my daily rewards of not feeling like I am going to die tonight are still so motivating to me. But SR is so peppered with people who have tried and used again and keep trying. Tell me what to watch out for. Thank you for coming back on here too. It really helps people like me.
