Newbie Here Hello, i just activated my sober recovery account. I am an alcoholic. I am ready to live again !!! I definitely need the support. To meet new friends that understand the same struggles as well. I am 4 days sober today. But I am human. It will definitely be a long new life road map for me. However, I would like to enjoy life again, be energetic and care about myself again. I need to repair myself first then repair my relationships. I just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I am actually getting a goods night sleep tonight. I've got challenges to face again tomorrow. Prayers to you all as well !!! Goodnight 💤😴 I will |
Welcome and congratulations on 4 days of sobriety! You will always find lots of support here. |
Welcome to the family. :) I hope our support can help you stay sober for good. :grouphug: |
awesome first post and welcome :You_Rock_ |
Hello and, yes, congratulations on four days. That's awesome! You'll find a lot of support here, with the added benefit of being able to help others. Try not to look at that road too far ahead of you. Just don't drink today. I've found that's what works for me. I honestly don't know about forever, but today I can manage. Best to you and a prayer. Hope to hear more from you. |
Welcome aboard TrueNewGirl :) D |
Great to meet you, TrueNewGirl. You sound determined & ready for your new life. It's wonderful to be free. Welcome! |
Congrats on day 4 and welcome to SR! There is lots of support here! |
Welcome to sober recovery! That first few days is the worst. Posting and reading here has really helped me stay the course. I hope it does for you as well! |
Welcome to SR! x |
Welcome to you and congratulations on four days! That is a huge accomplishment! |
Must have been a sleep-deprived few days, but it does get a lot easier. In my own experience, it’s 100 times easier to quit totally than to try and cut down. Also to have “just the one” makes it harder still. Do whatever it takes, see your GP if necessary, but stick at it. You won’t recognise your old self :) |
Welcome True. I relapsed twice in the last 3 years & now @ 9 months. You can do it! Congratulations on 4 days. |
Thanks Everyone Hello, Thank you ALL for the welcoming and encouraging post to me. I am on day 5. Today, was a little tough this afternoon. Especially, for me working in a stressful IT world. I had more energy today. I noticed my mind seems clearer not as foggy. I'm writing down things to do to and keep busy. Like yard work and focusing on my house again. I also have been reading great advise on the forums throughout the day today. Also, reading some spiritual passages. I know it's not for everyone. I'm open to any and all of your suggestions and advise. I personally need to focus on my disease right now. But I hope to also help others on here too. It takes a village. This support forum is actually the only thing that I haven't screwed up. So I'm on the right path 🙏🏻🤗 Have a great evening to you all. Prayers and blessings to you also. Goodnight 💤😴 |
5 days is wonderful, True. Congratulations - you're on your way. :) |

Since you’re open to suggestions, as I’ve said before & will say again, daily exercise has been CRITICAL to my continued sobriety. If you don’t have a history with a routine, or even if you do, start slow. Walk 10 minutes. Increase intensity (speed) & duration (time) over the coming days & weeks. The routine needs to be SUSTAINABLE. The key is CONSISTENCY. If you follow this plan daily In three months you won’t believe how much improvement you will see. Depending on your beginning fitness level you could be running two miles straight. Add strength training when you are ready. One or two exercises to start. One set. And DON’T DRINK. Good luck on your journey. |
Congrats on taking the first step. |
