Painkillers withdraws

Finally going thru withdraws and it sucks. The bright side is it won't last forever. And I'm at a very good friends wedding and I'm actually not stoned for once. I can actually just drink some coffee, socialize and enjoy the beautiful event on a beautiful day. So at least I'm looking at the positive.

Yes withdrawals suck. So proud of you.

Best wishes.

Withdrawal can be rough but it won't last forever. In a while you'll be feeling much better.

Good for you. It isn't easy, but it becomes more and more comfortable as you go forward.

I always thank the universe that I loathe opiates. I would have been addicted to that as well. Alcohol and sedative withdrawal is horrible enough.

The physical withdrawals will last around 72 hours. How long has it been since you stopped and how are you feeling today?

Today will be the second day without. So not too much longer to go on that 72 hour timeline. Just trying to keep myself active to keep distracted. Today should be easy staying out of my head. I have church this morning and my AA home group tonight. So, I'm feeling good about that.

It sounds like you're doing ok so far, Wes, well done.

I used to find hours 24-48 the worse time of opiate withdrawal, then things would start easing off a bit.

Good luck to you

Been in a bit of a depressive episode today, but thank goodness my psychiatrist has me on the right combo of meds or it would be a lot worse. So been sleeping a lot today, probably need it. Things are slowly getting better day by day.

Rained out of work today (again!), making my rounds on the interwebs and of course, SR.

Thinking of you, Wes - hope you had a good evening and wishing you an even better today!

Yes, emotions can be all over the place when coming off opiates. The slightest thing would make me burst into tears! It's often down to the suppression of feelings and emotions when on such drugs.

Glad to hear that things are slowly getting better for you and hope that they continue to do so.
