Hello everyone. I'm new to this site but have been going to AA and NA for ten years now. I haven't had any alcohol in some time now. But, I have been abusing painkillers lately. I am dual-diagnosis.. I have bipolar disorder and substance use disorder. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and getting my life back on track. Thanks for letting me share.

I currently am working with my psychiatrist, family doctor and therapist for my mental health issues.

Hello and welcome.
I've been diagnosed with everything but sane.
It sounds like you're getting the help you need.
It took me a long time to get mental health help, but once I did, I was able to make progress.
I'm also an alcoholic. And have abused most drugs that can be abused. No kidding.
Been clean from drugs for twenty years now and alcohol ten.
Those of us with mental illness can, and do, get clean and sober. I have and I wish the same for you.
I'm glad you found us. You're not alone.

Welcome to the family Wes. I am also diagnosed bipolar, tho I call it 'manic depressive' as I think 'bipolar' makes me sound like a big magnet.

Now that I'm sober, my meds work as they should and my life goes pretty smoothly most of the time. It helps a lot to have support here.
