from our neighbors, instead of an aperitif in the evening, it’s now coffee and cake at lunch time, feel happier about this

I know this feeling so well haha. Feels good! "Drinks this Friday?" "How about dinner tonight instead". Did that this week. Easy enough eh.

Thanks yes a lot better, if it doesn’t work for my sobriety it won’t be happening, I’ve kidded myself in the past and thought I can handle it, noooooooo it was to early to be around that, I need to give myself a fighting chance

Glad you had a good time, Mummy. I had to Google petanque as I'd never heard of it. Sounds fun.

Congrats!

I looked it up, too. Petanque looks like a lot of fun!

What is the difference between petanque and bocce?

The difference is right there: traditional bocce is more of a bowling game, whereas petanque is more of a tossing game, like horseshoes. Bocce players take steps before throwing, petanque players stand still. Bocce balls are usually rolled palm up, petanque balls tossed palm down, so they get backspin upon release.

Ah, petanque is a form of boules. I remember seeing people, mostly older men, playing boules in the parks in Provence.

Glad you enjoyed! It seriously sounds better to me than a glass of wine. Never thought I'd ever ever say that.
