It’s a journey...

And an incredible one at that. There can never be an end point for me personally, just an acceptance of my journey of sobriety filled with continued growth and development.

Remember it takes time to heal and recover, it will materialise if you’re rigorously honest, open-minded and willing to do what it takes.

Grateful to be sober, grateful to be an alcoholic 🙏

No problem. Stick with it, sobriety and the journey of recovery is a truly wonderful thing. To be grateful for simply being is a great place to be at; sobriety and recovery has given me this gift. It’s polar opposite to how I used to feel prior to getting sober.

It is a wonderful ride isn’t it, the booze was actually fogging our vision!

sure is! Alcohol corrupted my thinking. To think clearly and free from the shackles of alcoholism is a wonderful thing.

Great sober day today; beautiful weather and a great AA meeting. Life is good. Sobriety = waking up with hope everyday. It’s a precious gift 🙏

Nice to hear so many positive things about 'journey' - for me, and just beginning this 'journey' - this helps my belief there is a good life ahead.

I posted somwhere that last week I felt low going to weekend, because there is a space between ending drinking and the sober life I believe is possible. And this can be an empty space. But I know that things will come along to fill this place.

So positive messages like on this thread are a help to me in these early days because it strengthens my belief. If this makes sense.

Absolutely makes sense yes. I felt the same; there is obviously doubt as to the road that lies ahead but in my experience it’s a deeply rewarding and ever evolving journey filled with wonder and happiness. Far better than the life I used to live with pain, sorrow, heartache and hopelessness as the only outcomes.

Grateful to be sober 🙏

I would still be drinking if sobriety wasn't a really good thing.
