Night sweats on Night 20 of being sober

Hey - sorry to post twice, just wondered if anyone else has had night sweats weeks after quitting drinking? I used to have them at the start for a few days, but they went away. I'm wondering why I had them weeks later? Anyone else?

There's a whole lot of possible reasons for night sweats - it may or may not be related to your past alcohol intake.

If you're worried best to see your Dr :)

I had night sweats..in my mid-forties...for a couple years. I'm female, so maybe you could put two and two together on that. I agree with Dee, could be a lot of different things. I didn't notice it when I quit drinking.

Yep, me. It took my body a good bit (longer than a couple weeks) to have all the effects of my major alcohol abuse out. Not sure how long or much you were drinking, but everyone is diff and it's not uncommon for them to come and go based on all the folks I've heard share about it.

Also, if you take any meds, that can be part of it. I have sleep meds my dr and I have tried to keep me on but an awful side effect is the horrible night sweats that make it impossible to sleep away. Plenty of meds can cause sweats when taken at night v in the morning, and switching can help if that's OK w your dr.

So much goes into healing and good habits - like hydration etc- and the only way to get to my healthiest self and stay there most of the time is to stay sober. Keep going!

I had them every night for weeks then sometimes randomly for awhile after.

I had them a lot in the weeks after quitting and sporadically every now and again for the next year or so.
