AV Strong Today

Day 9 and I'm still feeling lousy. I would describe it as hungover. I am struggling to get out of bed in the mornings as I am so tired, even though my nights are no longer divided into 2 halves with several hours separating them. I have a permanent headache and just feel groggy. Consequently my AV has been having a fine time today, the general gist of which is "if you feel like this when you're sober you may as well still be drinking".

I know it will pass, but I kinda wanted to record it so I can confront it, process it and put it in a box.

Your AV knows that you're winning the battle and it doesn't want to give up. But, you can get through this. Your sleeping patterns should improve and hopefully you will have more energy soon.

Please don't give in. If you can go 9 days, you can go 10
Day 1 or 2 probably feel much worse than day 9, right?

I experienced that many times. When at a very low ebb we look for relief at any cost. AA people say 'this too will pass'. It seems the crux of the whole issue is to hang on in: when this is the last thing you want to do.

Please be gentle and patient with yourself. Sobriety is real unlike drinking and using. Your body and mind need time to heal.
