Didn't act on the urge.
I think I'm 10 days sober today.
grateful for...
1. The 8:45 p.m. meeting in rockridge. They really made me feel welcome.
2. friends came over with their two kids today. I felt like a human again.
3. Sober recovery - just seeing that you guys are here makes me feel supported.
4.That I didn't drink today when the urge to hit.me.
5.That I have a teaspoon of recognition today that I am not like my fellows and I have to (get to) do recovery every single day.

One day at a time. One moment at a time.
Am I seeing progress here? It seems like it. I know this has been a struggle for you, but I believe you are getting the hang of it. It's still hard, but the struggle will fade, and eventually you will be fine without alcohol, and you may even wonder why you thought it was that important.

Press, I love this!! And, a high school classmate of mine reached out to me a couple months ago- he lives in Oakland too and has been finding so much to enjoy out of the house and not drinking! We have a standing Sun pm call (well, afternoon for him!) and it was so beautiful yesterday he wanted to go hiking instead so we just texted a few min He wouldn't be doing that if he hadn't taken the chance of doing just what you are!
Keep going and keep updating us!

Your #5 is what struck me here. A teaspoon of understanding that you GET to do recovery every day.
Gratitude will go a long way. Once I started to feel grateful for recovery, and even for the disease that got me here, my whole outlook changed. I hope that's happening for you.
