Challenging Day

Had my first real moment of weakness so far in my 13 days today.. my Dad came over to help me with some electrical work at the house and stayed to watch the Final Four basketball games with me, which we have always shared some beers over sporting events. Hell, he used to let me have beers with him at football games and get togethers even when I was like 17 or 18. So, anyway, it was pretty difficult to let him know that I was in AA and working on sobriety..
He ended up being super supportive of course, but it was a huge obstacle for me to overcome the temptation. Happy to report I'll be two weeks sober tomorrow.

Nice! I've always received the same reaction I gave other's when they told me they had quit or were in AA. "Congrats..thats awesome!" Personally, I think the 'fear' of what others will think/say is just another excuse I used to continue my drinking. Turned out the opposite for most and if my choice wasn't supported, i then chose to change my relationship with that person as well. Keep at it.

Edit: great games again today!

Congrats on two weeks sober! :) Stay strong and don't let temptation get you. Remind yourself that you are sober and want to stay that way. :)
