Thanks Dee for always saying what I needed to hear .... Which was not always what I wanted to hear! It takes a very special soul to walk that treachourous line between compassion and honesty, especially in the early days when I was so damaged and defensive. You were the first role model in my life to gently point out how alcohol had distorted my thinking and my AV didn't want to hear that! But you perservered and I'm so grateful to you that you did because now I see that everything you said was right. I needed support and encouragement in the early days and I got that from you and from all the others here in abundance. However, I also needed a brave soul to step up and challenge me a little on how I was viewing the world. You were that soul and your words were exactly what I needed to hear. .... They made me confront my thought processes ..... They put me on the road to recovery. How do you thank someone for that? All I got is words and as you know from the length of my posts I got plenty of words! Thank you Dee. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. You are helping people every day to reclaim their lives. You are on the front line in the battle against alcoholism and we are all so lucky to have you in our corner. Huge congratulations on 12 years Dee and yeah, thank you for helping me remember that life is awesome xxxx
