Maybe start to create new weekend traditions to turn wekends into something you look forward to
Whatever would bring you some joy and good feelings- a manicure an exercise class, buying some plants for your yard, bicycling...whatever feels good to you

Having things to look forward to, even as simple as a special snack or seeing a friend really helps me get through the personal time. One thing I really enjoy doing is thinking of something I used to love but had given up because it didn't gel with my addiction and then going and doing that.
M22- I used to be fearful of the future, scared of drinking on certain days- which is where mindful stuff comes in. I do this okay these days- where, when I start of project anxiety on 'what if's', I can re-centre back on this moment, here - in the present.
That is one cliché from meetings which does make a great deal of sense..'one day at a time'
So- I do not worry about not drinking yesterday...it is gonne
I do not project anxiety about what will happen tomorrow- because IT IS NOT TOMORROW
I REMIND MYSELF THIS MOMENT- I AM SOBER, AND THAT IS ENOUGH- THAT IS GOOD.
Same goes for most of the anxieties I drum up.
Support to you.

I am enjoying baking with the kids, and making a little veg patch in the garden, although the weather isn’t so good today, hubby is home for the weekend so I will feel better when he arrives, he has lots planned for us to keep my mind occupied

Thats great. Youre doing great. Dont forget to give yourself credit for successes.
I understand we dont want to get complacent when it comes to alcohol, but to me if we dont enjoy the benefits of sobriety the disease is winning.
Enjoy your sober weekend

I try to do a mix of things on the weekend, where I spend one day of productivity for things that I haven't had time to do during the week and a day of down time for rest and restoration. If you find that you need to schedule more to cover the two days, by all means do that, you may need more activity in these early days to keep your mind occupied. I really like what has been said here about giving yourself a pat on the back for how you did during the week, because it is important to recognize that you've made it through all the other days, too.
Stick close to SR if your AV is gnawing at you. If there are meetings to attend, that's an option for difficult times. Recovery work is an every day affair.

What about half a day taking kids to museum, park, baking cookies--just fun with your attention on them?
Another fun thing might be have a movie night with them--make popcorn, let them choose the movie, etc.
Build some memories and distract yourself from cravings
