Newbie here!
I am brand, spanking new here....wife of an alcoholic who has also been hooked on prescription pain meds among other things. It's been a long, long journey (12 years to be exact) and I've sucked it up alone and stoic because that's how my Mother raised me....well I'm tired and finally looking for support and guidance.

Welcome to SR Hope, sorry to hear about what bring you here. 12 years is a really long time to be alone with all this, glad that you've finally decided to find some help and support. We do have a friends and family of alcoholics forum here you might want to check out, you'll find lots of folks who may have been or are currently in a similar situation as you. There are also likely resources and support groups local to your area that you might want to check out. And the newcomers forum here is always a busy place and you are welcome here anytime too.

Welcome to SR Hope! Glad you decided to seek help and support. Speaking as an alcoholic myself (sober 4 years 3 months) I know how selfish it makes us which must be intolerable for partners. Forums like this will show you that you are not alone and are a great source of advice from people who have and who still are going through similar experiences to your own.
