Glad folks are sharing....

Here's a way to pose the "question" of having alcohol around: is it actively good or potentially harmful to your sobriety? At first, literal sobriety was absolutely my focus - so why would I have alcohol in the house? Honestly, not a single good reason. Now, emotional sobriety is my focus - so why would I have alcohol in the house? Not a single positive reason, since we don't drink, feel no need to entertain or serve others who might come over, or cook with alcohol.

In this light, it's very simple to me.

It's very inadvisable and foolhardy to have alcohol in the house. It's always in the back of your mind, whether you acknowledge it or not, that the alcohol is there.
