Liver Test today

I am scared and frightened. Only 3 days without booze, The doctor called me in for a check up. I had a dream that I left giving up too late. No drink since. I will find out tomorrow what the results are. Thanks to all who replied to my previous thread.

It will be good for you to know where you stand heakthwise then you know what your dealing with.

The liver can regenerate but it requires total abstinence.

There is no enjoyment for any of us in alcohol now that ship has sailed.

Staying sober your aging everything and losing nothing.

Take care

The dream sounds like it was unsettling for you. It’s great to hear that you’re sober. No matter the results, sobriety is key.

your first liver test scare was back in October, six months ago. and yet you were not able to seize sobriety. are you now ready to stop drinking for good? not just in advance of a test? but no matter what the results are? your health, your choice. i hope you choose wisely.

If this helps. My liver readings were thru the roof after 30+ drinking. Now 5 months sober everything is notmal, actually better than the average readings on non drinkers. I bit the bullet this time. Not goong to risk it again. Phew!! I am sure you will be fine and if tou are dont let that be an excuse to start again.

Though parts of my liver is cirhorrisized (not a word, don't care), I wonder if my levels are back to normal. It has been close to 8 months since I last had a drink and since I last had blood work....

Makes me wonder, but maybe I'm better off not knowing.

How did it go? I'm glad you've got 3 days!

One thing I want to caution you based on my own experience and others; fear isn't a recovery plan, at least not in the long run.

Do you want to quit drinking? Are you willing to do whatever it takes?

What will you do to stay sober? It might help to write it out here and get suggestions from people.

I hope you'll keep posting at the very least. Don't drink. Period. No matter what happens. Lean on us for support.

I'm hoping you'll take this scary moment to spur you into real and lasting change.

Sweeti, like all the others I'm also curious about the results.

In 24 hours or so I will also have a scan of my liver, as I go to an inpatient detox at a hospital. I'm terrified.

What's your day-day routine like, sweetie? Still reads like you need something positive/productive going on to 'take up' your time besides the constant drinking and 'drama' that you always use as and an 'excuse' to drink towards/at. Ya know if you stop drinking,at least 65% of that 'bull****' will go away...right? The rest you can work out with sobriety.

Yourself and your drinking are the root of your issues.. It's really that simple.

Thanks everyone for your support. I don't get the results till tomorrow. My tests are never normal. The doctor will tell me tomorrow how bad my liver is.
