42 Days - still sick
Hi there,
New to SR, but have been reading many posts in the last few weeks...
46 y/o, heavy drinker off and on for 15 years with 2-3 “detox” experiences in the last 6 years.
I am 42 days sober, but still dealing with feeling physically sick. Not like the first 10-15 days when I was mostly bedridden, but still with night sweats, nausea, rapid heart rate/high blood pressure, and general malaise.
i thought the physical symptoms would mostly be gone?
i work out daily and eat very good...

floyd,
As long as you have been to a dr., you are probably ok.
I had moderate paranoia and agoraphobia for over a year. If I went to the Dr., i would have been medicated.
I stuck it out and for my troubles I ended up with moderate ptsd after the other stuff started getting better.
From the research I have done, the half life of mixing meds and booze is longer
than booze itself.
I call what you are dealing with hell on earth. You would feel better if you drank, but then you would end up in the same situation eventually down the road.
Again, it took me well over a year of various symptoms to get somewhat better. There is no easy way out.
Thanks.
